Common faults of refrigerated dryers and solutions
Aug 26 , 2024

The refrigerated dryer may encounter some common faults during use. The following are some typical faults and their solutions:

1.Poor drying effect: If you find that the drying effect is not good, it may be due to insufficient refrigerant or insufficient inlet air temperature. Solutions include checking the refrigeration system and adding refrigerant, adjusting the inlet air temperature or extending the drying time.

2.The refrigeration system cannot operate: It may be due to refrigerant leakage or internal system component failure. You need to check the leak point and repair it, and replace the damaged parts.

3.Mechanical parts abnormality: If the dryer rotates poorly or not at all, it may be due to bearing damage or mechanical parts being clogged. The solution is to check the bearings and clean the mechanical parts, and add lubricant if necessary.

4.The compressor does not start: Possible causes include incorrect wiring, low voltage, or a damaged start capacitor. You need to check the wiring, voltage, and capacitor.

5.Compressor overload protection action: It may be due to low voltage, three-phase imbalance or overload protector failure. The solution is to check the voltage and protector.

6.Relay burnout: may be caused by too high or too low voltage, incorrect running capacitor or repeated starting and stopping. Replace the appropriate relay and capacitor.

7.Drainage system failure: If the drain outlet is blocked by ice, you need to adjust the refrigerant low pressure to normal; if the float drain is blocked by dirt, you need to clean the float drain; if the electronic drain does not drain, you need to check the electronic drain coil and electrical schematic diagram.

8.The compressor temperature is too high: it may be due to insufficient refrigerant or excessive load. The solution is to check the refrigerant and add more, adjust the load.

9.Frosting problem: If frost occurs, you need to check the expansion valve and adjust the superheat.

10.High pressure alarm shutdown: It may be due to too much refrigerant, high cooling water temperature, insufficient flow or scaling of the water condenser. The solution is to release some refrigerant, use cooling water with temperature and flow that meet the requirements, and clean the water condenser.

In terms of maintenance, it is necessary to regularly check the power supply voltage, ambient temperature, cleanliness of the condenser and cooler, and whether the refrigerant pressure is normal. At the same time, pay attention to the cleaning and inspection of the automatic drain to ensure the normal operation of the drainage system.
