Introduction to the rotor structure of sliding vane compressor
Aug 23 , 2024

The rotor structure of the vane compressor is the core part of the equipment. Its design and function have a direct impact on the performance of the entire compressor. The following is an introduction to the rotor structure of the vane compressor:

1.Rotor configuration: The rotor of the vane compressor is eccentrically installed in the cylinder. This eccentric configuration allows the vanes installed on it to closely contact the inner wall of the cylinder under the action of centrifugal force when the rotor rotates, forming a closed compression chamber.

2.Vane Design: The rotor has a number of longitudinal grooves in which the vanes slide freely. The design and material selection of the vanes depend on how the compressor is lubricated. Oil-lubricated vanes may be made of synthetic resin composites or metal materials such as phenolic resin laminates, aluminum, steel, etc.

3.Number of slides: The number of slides is usually more than 4 to reduce leakage and reduce mechanical friction loss. The selection of the number of slides needs to balance the relationship between leakage reduction and mechanical friction loss.

4.The match between the vane and the cylinder: The height of the vane is usually 3 to 4 times the eccentricity to ensure that the vane is adequately guided in the rotor slot to avoid jamming or abnormal wear.

5.Cylinder inner circle and end cover wall: The cylinder inner circle and end cover wall that match the slide should have lower roughness and higher hardness, and are often nitrided or chrome-plated to improve wear resistance and rust resistance.

6.The circumferential speed of the top of the vane: The circumferential speed of the top of the vane is generally 15 to 20 meters per second. For small compressors or refrigeration compressors, this speed can be lower.

7.Oil-free lubrication vane material: In the case of oil-free lubrication, the vane material is usually made of graphite or synthetic materials with self-lubricating properties to improve mechanical properties and wear resistance.

Through these design features, the rotor structure of the vane compressor can effectively complete the gas intake, compression and discharge processes while ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the equipment.
