How to properly clean and replace the lubricating oil of the air compressor?
Sep 05 , 2024

Correctly cleaning and replacing the lubricating oil of the air compressor is essential to maintaining the performance of the equipment and extending its service life. The following are detailed steps and precautions:

1.Preparation: Make sure all necessary tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, waste oil containers, special refueling devices, etc. are ready, and wear personal labor protection equipment.

2.On-site preparation: Shut down the equipment and wait for it to cool down, record various indicators, thoroughly clean the dust and oil on the equipment casing, and keep the environment clean.

3.Drain the old oil: drain the oil when the engine is hot, use compressed air pressure to help drain, and use a hose to guide the oil into a waste oil barrel.

4.Disassemble the three filters: including the oil separator, oil filter and air filter element. Note that a small amount of new oil should be added to the oil filter before reinstallation.

5.Clean the inner wall of the oil separator cylinder: If there are oxides or rust spots on the inner wall of the oil separator cylinder, use a steel brush or detergent to clean it, and then rinse it with new oil.

6.Add new oil: Use a special refueling tool to add oil and ensure that the oil level is within the oil mark range.

7.Trial operation: Start the equipment, check whether the pipeline is leaking, confirm that all pipelines and spare parts are installed in place, and record the operating parameters.

8.Note: Drain the old oil when the engine is hot to prevent the precipitation of dissolved matter and maintain the fluidity of the old oil; pay special attention to the discharge of residual oil in the machine head and pipeline; if the system is seriously polluted, add working oil and run it for a period of time before draining it, then clean it and add new oil.

9.Periodic Inspection: Lubricating oil is sampled and inspected regularly to monitor changes in its properties, such as color, viscosity and acid number.

10.Manufacturer recommendations: Follow the compressor manufacturer's recommendations and the guidance of your lubricant supplier, who may provide more specific change intervals based on compressor model and usage conditions.

Through the above steps, the correct replacement of the air compressor lubricating oil and the thorough cleaning of the system can be ensured, thereby ensuring the efficient operation and long-term stability of the air compressor.
